Around the MLB on Monday...

2:40: The Rockies confirm the signing of Jason Giambi to a minor league contract. Giambi will report to Triple A Colorado.

The Reds are unlikely to make any more trades before the non waiver deadline.

If the Red Sox want to trade for RP Billy Wagner, they are going to have to guarantee they will turn down his option at the end of the season. Wagner wants to close and the Red Sox have a closer in Papelbon.

The Rangers want to bring back OF Marlon Byrd back next season.

The Yankees plan on bringing OF Johnny Damon back next season. Damon is a free agent after the season.

More to come, I guarantee.
