Trade Talk...

Here is the latest on trades:

The Cubs and Rays are still talking a trade of Milton Bradley for Pat Burrell. The money is a big problem in the trade but Levine thinks the trade will be done soon. The Cubs are still talking to the Mets, Rays and Rangers about Bradley still.

The Brewers are talking to the Tigers about a trade for pitcher Edwin Jackson. The Tigers made him available at the GM Meeting a couple days ago.

The Dodgers and Braves could be talking a trade for pitcher Javier Vazquez. Jim Bowden said they are but Mark Bowman says there not talking trade at this current time. They could have talk already but are not currently.

The Angels are reportedly talking to the Tigers about OF Curtis Granderson. This is another player the Tigers made available at the GM meetings. In the same report, it states the Yankees really like him and the Cubs will inquire on him. Jim Callis told Phil Rogers, out of those 3 teams, the Cubs have the best chance to land him.

Dan Uggla is apparently being shopped and the Giants and the Orioles are two teams interested in him.

It is just getting started.

Tom Ricketts is expected to be in full control as the new owner of the Cubs by the end of October. Bruce Levine is hearing October 15th and David Kaplan sources are indicating 11 days later on October 16th.

Tome Rickett has a lot of payroll to handle with the third highest payroll behind the Yankees and Mets, the payroll stands as of heading into the offseason at $134,809,000.

The Cubs are expected to trade disgruntled Milton Bradley with all the talk of him going to the Giants for Aaron Rowand, or to the Rays for Pat Burrell. The Cubs will most likely have to take on most of his contract if the trade does not off set contracts.

9:55: IF Dan Uggla said he expects the Marlins to trade him. He said "I will be sad to leave Florida, I love it here."

9:47: The Royals are close to signing first round pick Aaron Crow to a bonus between 3-4.5 million. The Royals never had the deadline to sign Crow because he played in Independent ball last years

9:20: Orioles pitcher Mark Hendrickson hopes to return to the season next year. Mark has a era in the 4's and with the young starting pitchers they have in the farm system and on the team, will the O's want him back. If they do will he be a starter or reliver.

More to come.
