Trevor Hoffman Extends Contract With Brewers
ESPN.com's Buster Olney announced that Trevor Hoffman has agreed to a contract extension with the Milwaukee Brewers worth $8 million that also includes an option for 2011. Trevor spent the 2009 season with the Brewers after 16 seasons with the San Diego Padres. Hoffman went 3-2 with a 1.83 ERA and saved 37 games. There is no reason to think Trevor can't put up similar numbers like this since he has been so consistent over his 17 seasons.

New Cubs Owner Keeping Coaching Staff...
The Sun Times is reporting that soon to be owner Tom Ricketts is expected to keep the same coaching staff that includes manager Lou Pinella and general manager Jim Hendry.
Tom Ricketts is expected to be in full control as the new owner of the Cubs by the end of October. Bruce Levine is hearing October 15th and David Kaplan sources are indicating 11 days later on October 16th.
Tome Rickett has a lot of payroll to handle with the third highest payroll behind the Yankees and Mets, the payroll stands as of heading into the offseason at $134,809,000.
The Cubs are expected to trade disgruntled Milton Bradley with all the talk of him going to the Giants for Aaron Rowand, or to the Rays for Pat Burrell. The Cubs will most likely have to take on most of his contract if the trade does not off set contracts.
